Reyes…Good or Bad Signing?

http://thebaseballhaven.wordpress.com/2011/07/07/why-is-jose-reyes-worth-100-million/#comments

The above article is one that I wrote on July 7, 2011.  Read it and then know that Reyes has played in just 61% of his team’s games since the start of the 2009 season.  While he is a special talent, paying someone $110 million over six years ($18.3 million/year) for that type of “help” is an interesting way for a team that hasn’t had money for years to begin spending it.  Add in the fact that the Marlins HAVE A SHORTSTOP ALREADY and you have to wonder what in the world the ownership was thinking here.  Sure, you want to load up on Latin talent as you take on the Miami name and new stadium, but what are you going to do with your top prospect third baseman, Matt Dominguez, now?  Does Hanley Ramirez WANT to move to third and is he going to adjust to a new position and rebound from a miserable 2011 at the same time?

All questions Marlins management will be asking themselves when Reyes pulls up lame sometime in July…I’m calling July 6th in the poll!
